What are custom ad serving settings? Can I pass along my own ad variables?

These are additional settings available to the serving code for advanced functionality.

Custom Parameters

You can enter one of the following values, without the quotes, into the "Custom Parameters" field when generating the serving code. For example:
  • "&dim=0x0x4|120x300x2|120x600" serves ads of multiple dimensions together, including text ads and banners
  • "&keywords=garden+vegetables" applies keyword targeting
  • "&wmode=transparent" changes WMODE setting
  • "&custom=Custom+Ad+Data" your custom ad data (see below)

Pass-along Parameters

If you want to pass data into your RichMedia/HTML ad for tracking or targeting purposes, you can append "&custom=SIMPLE+TEXT" to the serving code. Then add the tag {AS:Serving:Custom} (or {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded} for url-encoded parameter} into the code for this ad where you want the actual data to be replaced. When this ad is served, our ad engine will replace {AS:Serving:Custom} with the value of "&custom=xxxx" from the serving code. You can have up to six (6) custom params:
  1. custom => {AS:Serving:Custom} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded}
  2. custom1 => {AS:Serving:Custom1} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded1}
  3. custom2 => {AS:Serving:Custom2} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded2}
  4. custom3 => {AS:Serving:Custom3} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded3}
  5. custom4 => {AS:Serving:Custom4} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded4}
  6. custom5 => {AS:Serving:Custom5} and {AS:Serving:CustomEncoded5}

Special Variables

There are some special variables that will be replaced with actual value at run-time.
  • "[timestamp]" will be replaced with the current timestamp to be used for random generator
  • "[ASZoneID]" will be replaced with the zone ID
  • "[ASAdID]" will be replaced with the ad ID
